Nelson Ledges Race Course – Thanks to everyone!

The Northern Ohio Chapter of the BMW Club of America hosted 25 wounded warriors from Ohio and surrounding areas at our August 14th Driver’s Education (DE) event at Nelson Ledges Race Course near Cleveland, Ohio. The participants, including active duty, recently separated and past veterans all were able to ride on the track with our instructors. There was also a tech session and other events designed to give the warriors the feeling of what its like to be on track with a high performance track car. We would like to thank the Wounded Warriors Project and Tim and Cindy Wing, Wolfgang Kaufer as well as a large group of club volunteers that made this happen for our troops. We look forward to next year!!

08/14/2011 – Nelson Ledges Race Course

The Northern Ohio Chapter of the BMW Club of America is pleased to announce that we have been selected by the Heroes On Track (H.O.T.) project to host 20 wounded warriors from Ohio and surrounding areas at our August 14th Driver’s Education (DE) event at Nelson Ledges Race Course near Cleveland, Ohio.

Each soldier and veteran will either ride with an Instructor in a modified session or in a Touring Lap with a family member attending with them. A classroom session, lunch and other activities are planned. This is a rare opportunity to combine our passion for our wonderful hobby, motorsports, with our sense of civic pride and gratitude for the sacrifices of the fine young men and women that are serving our nation. If you have never attended a DE before, this is the best time to begin. And if you’re a DE regular, then we need you to come out and volunteer to help make this event a success for our clubs and for the wounded warriors. Other marquee clubs and regions are strongly encouraged to participate with us.
